The Craft ofPerfection

Four meticulous stages transform raw timber into tournament-worthy art. A process perfected over four centuries, unchanged in its essence.

1

Wood Selection

Master craftsmen personally select each timber block, examining grain patterns, age, and structural integrity. Only 1 in 50 pieces meets our exacting standards.

2-3 Days
2

Seasoning

Traditional sun-drying for 6 months, or controlled kiln drying for 15 days. Moisture content is reduced to 5-6% to prevent any future warping.

15 Days - 6 Months
3

Lathe Turning

Using techniques unchanged for generations, artisans shape each piece on traditional lathes. Knights are carved in two parts—head and body—then seamlessly joined.

4-6 Hours per Set
4

Finishing

Multi-stage hand sanding through eight grits, followed by traditional French polishing with shellac. Each set receives 12+ hours of finishing work.
